Former Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress will likely finish out most of his prison sentence behind bars, after the state yesterday denied him work release for a second time. Burress has been in prison since September. He was sentenced to two years in jail for attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He was arrested when his unlicensed gun he carried into Manhattan club went off, hitting him in the leg. In its decision, the Department of Correctional Services said the nature of his crime does not allow for a work furlough, which would have let him spend some of his time working as a free man.Burress cannot reapply again until next June, when he comes up for full release if he gets time off for good behavior.
